Hey guys. So I have an interview at Western U on 10/1 at 7:45AM.

I was just wondering if anyone else has an interview there that day as well?

Due to flight scheduling issues, my flight isn't for another 9 hours after my interview (assuming the interview ends at noon)

Does anyone want to grab a beer or two afterwards?
I've also never been to Cali... so first time there! I'm thinking of MAYBE even taking an extra day and heading down to LA... but figured it would be kinda weird to go to LA by yourself.

So, anyone down for a 1.5 day baby vacation with me in LA, or whatever Cali is known for (since I've never been there) that is near Pomona? Or, we can just stay in Pomona and explore our potential campus.

If anyone is interested, PM me or just respond here.

Is it weird that I'm looking for a travel buddy on SDN?

If I had a interview I'd take you up on it! I think that's a pretty smart idea though, I may have to use it if I get an interview (fingers crossed).

That is my interview date there. I'm staying at the Marriott downtown LA.

So you're driving an hour to a 7:45 interview? 😱

I'm flying in at Orange County and booked a hotel 5 minutes from the school. Figured I'd rather drive more when I arrive than in the morning when I may or may not be in a rush/hurry and forget something or get stuck in traffic.

I'll PM you. I think I have another local in Pomona who said would be kind enough to show us around. 👍

My interview it at noon. So driving there won't be too bad.

My interview is 10/1 at 7:45am, too! I'll be with my mom and boyfriend though. Not sure if we're staying in there area. I'd love to go see the mountains, or take the metro to L.A. (they have a $10 flat-rate fare on weekends to ride the metrolink...it goes all the way to the coast, down to San Diego, and a little more inland from Pomona).

I'm flying in Thursday and hanging out till Sunday. Can't wait! I'm from Fl, but I've never been to Cali.

The interview lasts until noon? This is great!

Well, they said it will take approximately 6 hours...so I just guesstimated noon haha. And if the next batch of interview (Dante) is at noon, ours probably end around then too.

OCDFlosser, if you're not doing anything or have some time to burn, send me a PM. I'm trying to get a group of us to hang out after the interview and maybe explore Pomona. I think Dante might be interested, and one of the locals who is interviewing there offered to give us a tour of Pomona 👍

I don't know how it's going to go this year, but in previous years there were two groups of interview times - but everyone had to be there by 8am. One group would interview first then take a tour/get the financial aid presentation/etc and the other group did the reverse of that. Might want to check into that just to be on the safe side...

If you have to be there by 8am, I would absolutely stay at a hotel closer to Pomona. Don't need traffic stress on top of everything else.

Not a clue... I'm at 7:45 interview and e-mail said plan to get there earlier, so I'll be there at 7:30.

I think people with the noon interview, like Dante, may want to check into that. Wouldn't want to show up to the interview late! Definitely NOT a good first impression. Would suck

I have interview at 745 october 1st? does anyone know much about pomona?

I looked Pomona up on googlemaps, and it seems pretty plain and insignificant. A girl I met at an interview (from L.A, CA) says that it's pretty ghetto.

Haha. Regardless, I'd definitely want to explore after our interview. We can figure it out when we meet in person. I'll be at the 745AM interview.

I actually did more than GoogleMaps on Pomona. Ghetto may be offensive to some, but it seems pretty accurate in my book. I looked at some stats, and city census, average income is like $30k or something I believe. Forgot other stats, but if you look at it, it's just a typical, below average town/city. Then again, almost all towns/cities that schools are in are like that, so not a big deal. It's also pretty close to LA (50 minute drive?) and airports so if you really want to leave you can, so I think it's fine.

Besides, I've never been to Cali and excited regardless.

Should I yell out the interview, WHO HERE IS AN OCD FLOSSER? or OWE-OO-BEE-BEE-Eleven, WHERE ARE YOU?
