So on the pre-req sheet, we're supposed to fill out our pre-reqs, pretty simple.

But for me, I skipped the first two quarters of lower div biology and went into BIO3 immediately.

So now, that leaves other biology classes to fill in the gaps.

Since there's only 3 spots, and 2 of them are empty, can I just handpick the biology courses I'd want to count as 'pre-req'?

I took bad in poorly in genetics but did well in a biology environmental class (all of these classed are offered under the biology department, by the way).

This way, my application looks nicer, but is this what I'm supposed to do?

Also, I took like 5 biology courses, but I got like B-'s and B's, but I know the one I'm gonna take this summer is gonna be an easy A (trust me), so should I put THIS human sex class as "in progress" or go with the B- or B classes to fill up the pre-req labels?

Thx

Uhhh, I don't think you can just "pick" any courses you want. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has to be a general biology class. You seriously might want to call them before you do anything.

You might want to take those classes that you skipped over.

I'm pretty sure they consider any biology class, as part of the pre-req. The question I ask is, which ones can I choose from? (all under bio department right)?

That's not what I was told. Also, most other dental schools consider General biology to be the prereq. You honestly might want to call them tomorrow and check w/ them. 👍

go to this site and look for your school and it will tell you which classes fulfill the pre-reqs.

Pretty sure any biology course fulfills, like histology, endocrinology, etc.

Exactly. That's what I'm talking about. My question was, for the 3 courses to fill in, can I just 'pick' the ones I got A's and B's in??

But I got to UCSD and it only lists "Bipn 100, Bild 2, Bild 3, Bimm 121(lab)"

Of which, I've only taken BILD3 and skipped out of BILD 2. BIPN will be taken during the winter; what about the third? I'm so confused!

when i applied last cycle, I just included two biology courses that I took (semester system). Really does not matter I think what you pick as long as they are biology. They are going to see your transcript anyways, so just choose any three biology courses that you took.

Call the school to make sure as well.

from the site:

General Biology Qualifiers:
May not be an introductory course
May include courses such as biology, zoology, anatomy, physiology, embryology,
endocrinology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, histology, etc.

Sweet. Do you think 'human impact on environment' listed under biology department would count?

Also, what about for the pre-reqs that I haven't signed up for? For example, for the biology labs, I only know ONE of the classes I'm taking for sure (next fall), but I have no idea for winter/spring (I know I only need one more); what do I list here? Just any random biology lab course?

you might be pushing it with the human impact on the environment. Just choose basic biology courses that you must have taken. It also might be easier to choose courses that had labs with them since you need 12 quarter units including labs.

If not, list labs and courses that you think you will take before you attend school and if you end up changing your mind, you just contact the school.

okay fine. ill pick cell biology that i got a freakin b- in and the upcoming sex class that im gonna get a A in fo sho.

as for lab, ur right. im only taking 2 cuz thats all i need for my major.
