Does western U sent interviews to just anyone? I just got an interview and 2ndary email all in one. It this normal and are there any other schools that do this? 😕

they must have loved your stats. Sounds like if you play your cards right youre going to be in great shape, good luck!

now i feel like a doofus for waiting until monday to submit my app 🙁

are you sure they just dont send those interviews to everyone?? seems a bit sketchy...I didnt even fill out a secondary!

What are your stats? If they are pretty high then that is probably the reason

Not that high at all.... a 25S mcat (after three tries...yea i know standardized tests just take a bite outta my ass and I need to get used to it) and a 3.69 GPA. I did however volunteer in 6 hospitals...one of which is currently in a war-zone. You think it was the experiences? cuz i know for sure that the academics didnt do it!

Maybe they really like your PS, could be the experiences too, so much goes into a app, they probably just liked the whole package!

I don't know if it's normal or not, but there's three others of us that received the interview invite yesterday. I guess the other two and myself are all trying to make it for 9/6.

I asked on another thread, and apparently NYCOM also does it.

Hey! congrats on the interview!!

I was offered a pre-secondary interview last year and am now going to be attending western in the fall.

They send some interviews pre-secondary to applicants they are impressed with. My scores were pretty avg too so I wasn't sure why they wanted to interview me like that, but don't worry... it's a good thing.

SO many people apply to western that they just can't interview everyone.

Good luck, try to schedule it as early as you can, and look at the studentdoctor.net interview section for the types of questions you'll be asked... almost all the questions that I was asked were on studentdoctor

Just curious, when did everyone's AACOMAS (that already got interviews) get verified/sent out?

PS- I am also going for an interview at Western on 9/6!

good question, when did yours go out?

anybody hear about the 90% acceptance rate for interviewees? I did a search on here and found a couple of people alluding to this without providing any legit sources.

Is that something you really want to know?

Well, if you really do, mine was sent out 6/18. I'll see you there.

High stats or great ECs or both?

GPA 3.48 science/3.62 overall
MCAT 2005 9PS, 9VR, 9BS, R
MCAT 2006 11PS, 7VR, 9BS, R

volunteer work, some research, TAing, peer health educator, health policy internship, etc

True for most schools... interview = pretty much in. Just don't have tatoos and earings all over your face (no offense, it's just the reality in my opinion)
