:scared: nothing in snail mail or email box for me so far.
Now I'm going to be checking SDN and my email 500x more than I have been the past week...I don't know if my computer can take it...I have my iPhone for back up though:laugh:
 
nothing heard on the east coast. guess I'm last unless it's email!
 
Just checked my e-mail. Nothing here in AZ. Sorry to put all the pressure on you chi chan but thanks for asking for clarification hopefully it will make us slightly less neurotic...or maybe not. But thanks for giving us updates it is appreciated. 😀
 
it is very appreciated! I think we are all just going a little (ok, maybe a lot) crazy as time gets closer. I've had to resort to cleaning my house in order to distract me from refreshing SDN a million times today.
 
Haha. No pressure involved, don't worry (especially since I'm not waiting to hear back from them). And no, she hasn't gotten back to me yet. She's still finishing her undergraduate stuff and I know they have finals coming up, so I'm impressed that she isn't on Facebook right now like I would be if I were her. I've found that cleaning house actually works! Though, there's only so much you can do.
 
As soon as I saw this thread pop up and that you had posted in it chii chan I was like, "Yay. We get to know if it is via snail mail or e-mail." But, alas nothing. Although my heart did enjoy the workout. 😉

Western is my last hope and will definitely be attending if I get accepted. I absolutely LOVE their program!

ahh, Western. Stop making us suffer!
 
Good question. I love the program, but if I were to get in to my IS off the waitlist it would definitely be a hard decision that I would have to really investigate. However, I'm 80% sure I'd go to Western if accepted.
 
I will! It is my first choice and if I get in I will withdraw from the Kansas waitlist. I love PBL! I think it is the best way for me to learn
 
I will also be definitely going as well! It is my last chance to get in this year and ever since seeing the school and talking to the students I have been really excited about possibly attending. :xf:
 
I am also at about 80% for Western as also waiting to hear from Davis. Definitely more of a PBL person and have a history with Western students at my practice! I have husband and other things to think of as well when deciding to move shop to Nor Cal! Davis is pretty awesome though!

If I get in, I'm definitely turning down Kansas to go to Western.
 
i will be going as well. but i have a feeling that the person who said they heard from western already is mistaken. i know they send everything out at once and the fact that not one of us have heard anything makes me think that person made a typo or is talking about another school. i was waitlisted last year and i know someone who was accepted and we got or emails probably 3 min apart. i know its hard to not freak out but my guess is we will all hear friday. so we all need to find something else to do beside check our emails and mail boxes for another day or so!

Western is also my last hope but I feel that if I would have been accepted to another school, I would most likely choose Western. I love their curriculum and PBL. Oh, I also love how the students are non-competitive with each other (and are not encouraged to be). I don't know how competitive students are with each other at other schools. I hated the competitiveness of my undergrad (the pre-med students were so cut throat). I don't think there is a need for that in vet school.

I agree archie27. with all the people here that were interviewed, its hard to believe that not one SDNer got any correspondance.

On the bright side, it's now Wednesday! Only Thursday and Friday left this week. I doubt they would send anything on a Saturday. I hope we hear something by then or I would hate to be working at their admissions office on Monday when crazed SDNers bombard their phone lines :laugh:
 
I'm about 70% sure I'd choose Western. I have to make a Pros and Cons list between Western and Glasgow, but the program seems like a great fit for me, and it would be nice to just move 2 hours north instead of overseas 🙂
 
I almost wish we had a chat function on here so when we were at those times of freaking out or stressing out we could just talk and be distracted. Sorry if I cause a few heart attacks but I don't like the dead quiet of my favorite thread! haha

I agree! Just thinking that last year, they found out late Thursday night!

The anxiety has started setting in :scared:
 
So have we not ruled out possibility of email? This would be nice...

I hope not. It just doesn't make sense to me to send out emails one year and not the next.

According to my obsessive checking of old threads, the first batch of emails was sent around 11pm pst (2am est) on March 12 (Thursday) and then other people got emails in the morning of March 13 (Friday)


I really do hope its by emails cause I would really hate to wait for snail mail!

Hey everyone....I'm sorry for your stress! I know how it feels....I just wanted to let you all know that I received my acceptance email last March 12th at 10:50 pm (Mountain time). I then received the same letter via snail mail about a week later. I haven't heard from any profs on campus when they are sending out letters, but I'll let you know if I find out!

I agree that keeping it consistent makes most sense, but I wonder why they kept on with the snail mail only illusion then. Here's to sleeping with phones tomorrow night!

I do not think I will be able to sleep tomorrow night. Especially since my new phone does not yet have e-mail set up on it. :scared: I will have my computer right by my bed the entire night tomorrow.
 
haha. I should find some way to set up an alarm to go off if I get any late night emails...oh the technology I could patent!
 
oh i have one don't worry! But an actual ALARM that has some crazy music that actually wakes me up would be great. lol
 
hopefully i'll be asleep if I get an email and then have the greatest or worst surprise waking up on a friday. no way am I staying up until 2am!
 
So if there is a collective scream heard around Southern California around 11pm....no need to call the cops! We do need a chat, then we could help keep each other awake till 11pm, not that we will need too much help!
 
I was all about the email theory. But I'm starting to think maybe it really is going to be just snail mail. Here's my thought process. Emails were sent out last year then snail mail arrived a week later. They basically gave us the go ahead to completely freak our freak if we didn't get anything in the mail by March 15th. To me, that's saying we should receive something (all the way in Florida) but Saturday and probably sooner for you Cali natives. Which leads me to believe that since we haven't received anything by email yet that it's not happening. Just babbling really.
 
Does anyone want to muster up the courage to call and ask about specific details concerning exactly when/how all notifications will be sent? I'm pretty sure that they aren't being bombarded with calls right now like they were in January.
 
I guess I wake up too easily then - the email noise always gets me. Plus, it vibrates on the nightstand.

Somehow, the Western thread always turns into a guessing game about how/when/what order. Lol. Next thing, you'll be arguing about what order people are notified in, and if it has anything to do with your last name. 🙂

No see we know it has nothing to do with last name....it is done by eye color and hair color combinations. 😛
 
Well, I can say that last year we got the emails late tonight and I got my letter 2 days later. So the email theory isn't dead yet. The mail was super fast for whatever reason. Haven't you heard the theories??? They are having an intense shuffleboard tournament right now to determine who to mail the letters to first!

oh oh oh but if you're in boston or anywhere else really cold they won't let you know until the 15th because hey if you can wait 6 months for it to be spring then you can wait a weekend to find out about your future.

i'm also home from lab early and I want to go to sleep and wake up to Friday morning!!!:scared:
 
Damn! And my husband is leaving for San Felipe, Mex, this afternoon for four days! He won't be here to share the news, whether ecstasy or wrath! Good thing we all have each other!

Great, the nightmares have started. I dreamed I got an e-mail from Western with a very vague title, and when I tried to click on it, my computer crashed and I couldn't see what it said!

I am officially away from my mailbox for the next week and a half. If they only send notifications via snail mail I just might have to take a 2 hour drive back up there because I am not sure I could survive for an entire week and a half without knowing. So I am really hoping that the notifications will be via e-mail. I am going crazy! I really just want to know.
 
I grew the melons and called. I asked when we woukd be notified and I was told "we will be mailing those out Monday morning". So WTF.
 
Wow, that is pretty jacked up! Well I think we are all justified in calling on Monday saying we were told to call if we had not heard anything yet... so WTF! Unless its all a trick. JK.

Yup they said we will hear ON OR BEFORE the 15th and if not we can contact them. I'm still hoping they would email first then send out snail mail on the 15th
 
I spoke with a student at the tour that said she didn't recieve her letter (snail mail) until St.Patties day... 3/17, Cali resident. So that only leads me to believe that us east-coasters won't hear anything until Thursday at the earliest. You guys are killing me with all these posts... I can't help but check every hour!!

I DO hope that they email us so I don't completely loose it next week.😱

I still have hope for an email tonight!!


Someone else call to see if they say the same thing!
