Western waitlist - any updates?

I emailed Hazelle and she said she is not given that information. Last week the class was 75% full with two interviews left. I wonder if they waitlist everyone who had an interview and didn't get accepted. Has anyone interviewed and been rejected?

I got accepted but I just declined my acceptance....one more place for youuu
 
so only 2 more interview dates left, Can anyone tell me how many students do they normally interview each day? Thanks guys!!!

Does anyone know for sure what the difference between a "ranked" and a "non-ranked" waitlist is? My guess is that with a ranked one you are automatically admitted if a spot frees up and you are at the top of the list, while with a non-ranked one each time a spot opens up the adcom looks at everyone to pick the applicant they like the best (I remember Western's waitlist letter saying something to that effect). I just wanted to confirm that my understanding is correct, because the non-ranked version seems like an awful lot of work for the adcoms...

in non-ranked, schools act differently. some schools like Midwestern go by who is more interested and things like that, Western seems to be going for random draw. they randomly pick a file when a spot opens up. however the problem with that is I know 4 students who have put their name down on the wait list at Western but they already have deposited elsewhere and will go to their other choices for sure.
What western should have done,since its a new school, should have asked for a deposit to be put on the waitlist. this would have eliminated those who like to be put on the list for no real reason. then if you get in, you would get your deposit credited toward your tuition, if you didnt get off the waitlist till the end, then they could simply refund that amount. Thi way, atleast we would know how many people are on the waitlist that really wanna go there. my 2 cents

😕 I have to say this "random draw" thing did cross my mind, but it seemed too strange of an approach to be believable. Unless, of course, everyone on the wait list has pretty much similar credentials... I'll just keep my fingers crossed, then, knowing that now it's literally up to pure luck.... Thanks for the explanation though, it has been extremely helpful!!

Is this official info from the school itself? I am still finding it hard to believe, but then again, who knows? Thanks again!

Maybe they liked the school and want to have an opportunity to go there if they are indeed accepted later. If Western is your only interview then I understand you want to get into a d-school this year but there are others like you in the same situation that are wait-listed at the same schools your 4 friends are accepted to.

sorry i didnt say it right i was so pissed. what I meant is that there are students who know for a fact they will attend ASDOH and Creighton, already moved, found an apt and everything. but they still signed the petition to have their named added to the waitlist.
I know in the end it wont matter, but it just prolongs the waiting game for the rest of us who WANT to go to Western
