WesternCOMP vs. TCOM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
TCOM. One of the more well known D.O schools. Well established and tend to have competitive match rates.

If in state, DEFINITELY Tcom. but if not, then i dont know since both are great schools.

Even if OOS, still go and be happy you're the 10% that came in from OOS. Also, why the (besides tuition)? You're looking at maybe 40k-100k in debt vs 200k+... that's no joke.

The only thing I'd be worried about is the approval for a new MD school at the UNT. Sharing funding = lol.

i'm OOS; just wanted to know the differences in classes for yr 1 & 2 and if the clinical exp. at the 2 are comparable

TCOM.

Of course I'm biased. 😀

In all seriousness TCOM is a fantastic school for its price. I'm not familiar with 3rd/4th year rotation sites but I've been told that you can choose to rotate in houston, dallas, and other major locations. My only beef with TCOM is that they occasionally lack organization in course delivery. For instance, today we were supposed to have a quiz but it ended up getting canceled last minute. I'm not complaining!! 😀 But really this is a non-issue if you study your notes and keep up with assignments. So far I'm happy with my experience at TCOM. We are all feeling a bit burned out and looking forward to thanksgiving. Now I really need to get back to studying for our pulmonary exam tomorrow morning...

TCOM no matter if in-state or OOS. They are cheap, and they are very well funded by the NIH (for a D.O. school).

The TCOM rotations in DFW are second to none. Lots of action and learning going on. Good luck with the cardio block. The exams are a major pain in the ass, but... they're good for building character! 😉

Cheaper school for sure. $300,000 for living expenses and tuition at WesternU.
