As you can tell from my name, i am a hardcore VCU fan, anyway, i haven't gotten an interview with them. And i was just reading predents.com and i noticed a big jump in VCU's interviewed stats. we all know every cycle gets more competitive, but this cycle it seems the playing field has been raised quite a bit. For VCU, the avg interviewed on predents has over 21AA and 3.75 gpa, compare to last year's statistics, that's +1 AA and +0.25gpa!

Anyway, just thought i'd bring up the competitive nature of this cycle. Good luck with apps everyone.

The stats hasn't really changed... its just... for this year, there is only 17 people being intervied vs 2010 cycle which had 50 people.

17 vs 50... the 50 is more representative of how the stats look..... Even that isn't too representative....the ADEA book is best source which has 19AA and 3.5 overall and 3.4 science (this is for entering class 2009)

I agree with dentalworks

With predents, every shoool has over 3.5 gpa and 20 DAT

so don't worry VCU!

thanks for the encouragement guys, but this cycle is very different from the previous. I also thought that it may be the interview pattern where they interview high stats first then the low stats. However when i looked at predents, last year, they interviewed 3.3s, 3.4s intermixed w/ high stats students.
However, this year, it seems like there's barely any 3.3s being interviewed early...

Anyway, maybe i am reading too much into this...

dont read too much into it... the data sample is very small...

something interesting to consider.

You know how some schools dont update or even appear on aadsas... do you know the reason why?
- They dont want to let the info out on how many students they interview or how many students they initially accept or interview. I am pretty sure they dont report the accurate data to aadsas but rather they report an estimate...

I know this b/c last year a dean of d-school told us... they stated that they receive a card from aadsas and they usually fill it up randomly or trow it out...
