Quick question regarding admission to dental school...I have b.s. and M.S. in engineering and I am interested to go to dental school. Anyway, I have to take few requirement classes such as chemistry and biology so the question is does it matter if i take them at any community college or should be at a university as they recommend? Any other recommendation or more detail to know about the admission is appreciated?

Thanks for any input

Is there quite bit difference between both? college would be much cheaper than university?

Some schools won't accept CC prereqs.
That price difference between University and College won't matter compared to loans for D-school 🙄

if you'd like, you should call the dental school admissions office and ask them.

Thanks for the replied messages. So now I see most of schools are asking for 1 year of biology, what are the good biology classes that are common among dental schools and also beneficial for the DAT exam?

Thanks

Hey, it's good to see another engineer changing careers. I also have a BS and MS in engineering (mechanical) and have decided to go dentistry.

For the basic biology prereqs, take one year of General College Biology (w/ lab). This will also cover the information on the DAT.

Other courses that are strongly recommended:
Human Anatomy
Human Physiology
Microbiology
Biochemistry
Vertebrate Histology

Of course, prereqs vary from school to school.

Good luck.
