Hi folks, just took the DAT today. I got a 20 academic (21 science) but a 16 on the PAT. I was wondering what schools look highly upon the PAT, and which ones couldn't give a rats.. (I know UOP is a PAT school). ALso, I didn't do very well in the QR but, how much do schools care about whether you can find the cosecant of the sine of 20% of 6% of 666 in a ratio of 6:2?
Anyhow, thanks again for all of the info on these posts. Everyone has been great and the opinions and advice were/are invaluable for me.
Ciao

A 16 looks very negative on any subject, not only PAT. I know NYU & BU don't care much about DAT scores. I know a guy who got an interview at BU even before taking the DAT, and I'm talking about now-December, not August.
Also it seems like UPENN doesn't care about DAT. Desidentist got an interview invite without DAT. But his GPA is good.
It all depends on how high your GPA is.

Ambasol,

a friend of mine got a 15 on PAT, 16 in math but 18 academic average,... she got her acceptance from UCONN on Dec 2nd .... you should be in a very good shape.

I would say dont let it deter you from applying because all your other scores are pretty good. I would say you dont have much to worry about if you want to get accepted to any school. But if you are aiming for a particular school I would call them or email them and just check there opinion. To be on the safe side you could practice the hell out of the pat section and retake the DAT but that might be going overboard.

i have a 16/17 on my DATs and received several interviews and an acceptane. You don't need 20's to get into all the dental schools, although it helps. The average DAT is only a 17.
I say your PAT score is fine, especially with your academic average.

acceptance, sorry for the misspell

I agree with the previous response. Your other sections seem to be just fine. You should get in especially if your gpa is decent.
