I have a 3.5 overall gpa and a 3.3 science gpa with a strong upward trend due to me having a hard time getting used to college in my freshman and sophomore years. I was a new immigrant freshman year that didnt know much english so it took me a while to figure things out. I have many volunteer hours volunteering in Syria with children who live in refugee camps.I have also shadowed some doctors in Germany. I have about 100 hours of volunteering in an ER and about 100 hours of research. I still didnt take my mcat but I think I could be able to score a 510. What are my chances at DO schools ? And is an MD totally out of the picture ?

are you a US citizen or permanent resident? because that affects school choice. But honestly, GPA is okay for DO and low for MD. no one can give you an honest answer till you have an MCAT score for sure. I think most people have a goal of a 510 for the MCAT but that will be difficult especially if you have only been speaking english for a few years.

What were your year by year GPAs??

You're fine for DO as is with those GPAs, but without an MCAT, impossible to advise further.

I am a permanent resident. I now speak perfect english. My gpa’s were around : 2.81 freshman year , 3.2 sophmore year, ~3.8 junior and senior years.

GPAs are fine for either DO or MD tbh. All comes down to MCAT (513+ for MD, 505+ for DO).

when would it be considered to late to apply this cycle for DO and MD ?

Just asking cause that affects schools you can apply to and the CARS section on the MCAT is very difficult to even for native English speakers. Applications for 22-23 open 5/27 I believe, so just get your application in as soon as you can. But generally "late" is after the first week of september.
