- Okay guys you can be real and honest as you like. Here are my current stats and to see what MCAT score I need. I am planning on taking it again August 5th. Here are my current stats:

- cGPA: 3.12
- sGPA: 2.81
- nsGPA: 3.46
- MCAT: 6PS, 6VR, WS:M, Bio8 - 20M Total

- I know my Science GPA is low <3.00, but I am wondering if I can bump up my MCAT like 25+ where I could even have a shot?

when did you take it the first time?

and how long have you been studying for the re-take/what have you done differently?

Your best shot is to retake some science classes thus bringing your grades up for DO school. A post-bac with a good upward trend will also be good. Afterward go retake the mcat but not prior to spending 3 months studying for it. To learn some good study methods go to the mcat prep section.

This cycle don't bother applying. Unless you're a URM you arguably have no chance.

it's gonna take a solid mcat score to get you in this cycle, i would say like a 27, but if you can do that on that test, you'll have your scores like beginning of september, which is just in time, the gpa will still hold u back but with a solid score, i think you would have a shot this cycle

- Thanks for the input guys. I agree that a score around a 27 is probably needed.
- Unfortunately, I have already graduated so I don't have time to take more science classes. I am not planning on doing a post-bac.
- Also, varying on my next MCAT what schools should I be "looking at" to even have a shot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any extra activities? You can make it if you bring MCAT up to 24-30 minimum if you can explain why your GPA is low

I'm going to tell you right now, DO not to take the mcat without studying at least for a month and a half. A 27 on the mcat from a 20 will not happen without a lot of hard work and studying. Retaking it prior to being ready will only make your chances worse. I echo again, consider doing a post-bac. A 2.8 science gpa is arguably below the lowest 10th percentile for most accepted applicants, as such its going to kill you just as hard as your low mcat.

- here are my activities, and yes I have been studying!!! Thanks for the help guys. I don't need to be reminded of my low sGPA - I understand. I am asking what I can IMPROVE on, not what I have. Any more opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
