Im taking a gap year and im senior (22) now

EC: Not a lot of consistency but I have a variety of things. also did hospital volunteering for a long time but didnt go very often so I dont know how this will turn out

I think you will probably be okay for DO, and you might get lucky with some of those MD schools. Do you need to stay in Chicago for MD? I would add a few more MD schools if you can afford it.
 
Honestly you have a good shot at most DO schools. Your gpa and mcat are fine for DO, but your mcat might be a tad too low for MD schools, even rush and those others. The problem is that schools like Rush are flooded with tons of application from people with lower stats (as well as everyone with 30+'s) and it makes it difficult to get accepted there.

You might get lucky and get a few interviews for MD, but if you're really set on md, I'd retake the mcat and shoot for that magic 30. Otherwise DO is no problem for you.

are the DO schools I listed harder to get in compared to other DO schools. Are the schools I listed considered safeties?

CCOM is really the only one I know of out of those- I didn't apply to the others. I think their average mcat was 28 last year. And a couple people I know said nova was tricky for them. I think it's a good list for the most part, I would maybe look in to KCUMB and DMU as well.
