I just had an interview on tuesday which lasted like 10 mins at CVS. Interview was with pharmacist and I gave him all my info including resume, cda license sheet, and PTCB certificate. He said that the CVS in the city were looking for part-time, people who can close, work on weekends, and who are bilingual in Spanish. I actually meet all those requirements, but however I have no prior experience "in" a pharmacy setting. Anyhow it seems positive and he was the guy in charge for all the CVS stores in the city. So will I get the job as a newbie?

I got a job at a pharmacy located in a chain grocery store and did not have prior exp either. :luck:

you have a good chance, especially if the interview was so short. they're probably in need of techs. all of the tech's at our cvs had no prior experience...they like hiring new people who will learn fast. 🙂 gl! try not to be the pick up slave of the store :x

You noticed this too? Lol. I have to actively work against being the pick up slave.

OP, I am a CPhT at CVS and I was hired with no pharmacy experience. I just put down on my application my (extensive) work history in retail and one internship in the healthcare field. I was in the same position as you (got my certification prior to getting the job).

I think as long as you show true interest in the job and a willingness to learn quickly (and work hard) they will want you. That's what I did. If they are interviewing you, you are almost there already. I think you are probably going to get it.

hahaha yes, I'm so glad I worked at a low volume store so I had to learn how to do everything. When I transferred, I was pretty sufficient at everything, so they stuck me at drop off or production. Poor guy is still stuck at pick up 8 hours a day, 5 days a week....and he can't even apply a coupon for a rebill 🙁
