I will go all Casey Anthony on the next baby who whines about their chances of admission. Who do we look like, the admissions committee? You can give us all the GPAs, DATs, ECs, and PSs you want, but we have no idea whether or not you're socially inept when it comes to interviewing.

How the hell do we know whether or not you shot yourself in the foot by wearing white socks with your suit and didn't shave, or sported 4" hoochy heels and spoke like a valley girl? How the hell do we know if your professors called you an 'B+ student who asked for a reference letter, despite only coming to 5 office hours' in your LOE?

Stop fishing for compliments or looking for encouragement from the SDN network. No one cares about your 4.0 or 2.3, nor do we have any legitimate knowledge about what a specific school is looking for in a candidate. You want helpful information about your chances? CALL THE DAMN SCHOOL.

So, before you go posting another 'what are my chances' thread, go through this general checklist:

1) Does the school have any cutoffs or minimum requirements? If yes, go to question 2.

2) Do I meet all the things specified in question 1? If yes, great, I am eligible for admission.

TA DA! There you go. Question answered.

Or....

You can just redirect them to this stickied thread.

This.

There's no point venting through a thread like this, it will get buried fairly quickly and never read by those who it pertains to. In the "pre-professional" forums you just have to accept it and either ignore or do the above as a terse courtesy.

Hope your vent at least made you feel a little better, and if it means anything, I and most others probably agree with you to at least some extent. 😉
