Hey all,
I'm really confused and need some advice please. I'm a non-trad applicant.
What are my chances of getting in with these stats:
DAT (taken 08/11)
AA 19
TS 18
PAT 17

Masters GPA 3.6 (graduation Dec 2013)
undergrad GPA 2.7 ( graduated 2004)

I've done 3-6 months shadowing and volunteering at a dental office.

What do you guys think? I really don't want to take the DAT but if i have to, I will.

It's a tough call. Your DAT is slightly below the average score of matriculants...given that your numbers get you the interview more oft than not(where they can really gauge your ECs), I would say you are not in the best position. I would advise you to retake, but only if you are CERTAIN you can do better. Otherwise, apply June 1st, and pray.

Science is borderline avg./low. And with your PAT score, you might be weeded out from other applicants.

IMO, retake the DAT and aim for a better score. If you are showing great progress during your masters compared to undergrad. I'm sure schools would love to see a more progressive DAT score as well.

Also, being a non-trad, how is your Science GPA? I'm pretty sure (don't quote me) schools would love to see a solid foundation in the sciences as well.

Apply this cycle and see what happens. It's so easy for people to say retake likes its no big deal. I don't see them coughing up the 360 clams! Those score can get you in look at the under 20 dat club. The gpa from undergrad is the issue IMO but what do I know!?

I'd also recommend a re-take if it's possible (financially). Since you can't go back and change your undergrad GPA, it's best to change what you can change, which is the DAT. It would be worth the extra time and $ if you are able to knock the DAT out of the ballpark, which is possible if you dedicate enough time and study efficiently for it.

Retake definitely, you still have plenty of time to study and take in in July.

In the mean time just apply early and update your DAT score when you take it in July.

I mean you say that you took it August of 2011. They are going to want to see a re-take.
