my gpa since i started the science classes is 3.39
taking the pcat for the first time in two months
i don't mind going anywhere out of state or in state for pharmacy school and i have been a pharmacy techinican at cvs for a year now. i will be done with all the science classes by spring 2015. i am hoping i start pharmacy school September 2015. i have three letters of recommendation. two from pharmacists and one from my biology professor. i have both kaplen and dr collins to study for the pcat in two months. any suggestion to get a high score on the pcat since English is my second language and i am scared from the reading comprehension and verbal ability. i have a lot of passion for pharmacy but the whole thing is just very scary and i am getting stressed out.

what do you think my chances of getting to pharmacy school ?

I understand how stressful it is! I just submitted my Pharmcas. I'm so glad it's out of my hands now.

For the PCAT, I studied w/ the same materials (Kaplan and Dr. Collins). I scored in the 98th percentile, when i took it in July. Also, the Pearson tests are a must. They give you a pretty good idea on your percentile range. Verbal was not that bad, I memorized the top GRE and SAT words, but those did not help at all. I found that most of the words were just relationships and sometimes geographical. The Dr. Collins packet helps a bit w/ that. Bio and Chem is all about timed practice, my favorite sections. The Quant section is pretty much a race, you have to move fast. But i'm sure you'll do well since you mentioned you are a math major. I had the hardest time w/ reading comprehension, I ran out of time for that, so I'm probably not the best one to give you advice for that.

Good Luck!

If you already has a bachelor in mathematics, I do not think you have any problem scoring a great score on the PCAT. To improve RC and VA, read more and study SAT/ACT vocabulary list.

Your GPA is good. Paired with a good PCAT score, you will have good chance to get in some good pharmacy schools. Apply widely and wisely. GL 🙂

You've posted nearly this exact same thread 3 times now. The proper way to get help is to reply to your original topic which will bump it to the top. Creating more topics is unnecessary and a disservice to others seeking help.

the OP already received many replies to his/her original post. I dont know why he/she keeps posting the same post again ?? Is there a particular question the OP wants to ask ??

i apologize for being repetitive. i just needed some feedback and i haven't gotten reasonable feedback about my statues. it wont happen again. thank you

if you feel that you did not get the answer you are looking for, do also give some feedback or replies on people's replies/advice as why you think why you think they are not answering the question you really want to ask. Also, you can restate or clarify your original question.

For you original question, I think many others and myself have already answered it. Basically, you need to take the PCAT to improve your chance of admission. That is, without the PCAT, your chance at non-PCAT schools would be low (~50/50 for good/establish schools) because your GPA is not high enough and your work experience/LORs might not distinguish you enough to compensate for the low GPA. But if you had a good to great PCAT score (80-90 percentile on the PCAT), your chance of getting in good/establish schools would increase dramatically (~ 70% chance). If you do apply to some low tier/new schools, your chance of getting in somewhere is good (~ 70% chance) if your PCAT is not too low (~ < 50 percentile).

Hope that answer your original question. Do not hesitate to ask more as many here are willing to help. GL 🙂

given your current stats and planned course schedule, your chance to get in some school is good with that PCAT of 70's.
