So I just got my MCAT scores back from the June exam. I'm posting my school lists and was wondering if some people could help add/reduce any schools from it. Still working on my DO list. Asian CA resident 🙁

cGPA: 3.7(upward trend)
sGPA: 3.6(upward trend)

1st MCAT(January): 26 (8/10/8)
2nd MCAT(June): 508(126/128/126/128)

ECs:
Hospital volunteering - 150ish hours
Nonclinical volunteering - 100 hours
Shadowing - 70 hours(4 doctors 3 specialties)
Fraternity - first pledge class on campus and multiple leadership
Research - 2 posters

MD Schools:
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UCLA
UCSD
Eastern Virginia
USF
U of Miami
U of Arizona (should I apply to both?)
Quinnipiac
Indiana University
Medical College of Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Drexel
Virginia Commonwealth
Temple
Penn State
New York Medical College
George Washington
Wake Forest
Western Michigan
California Northstate(seems sketchy)
St. Louis
Creighton
University of Vermont
Rosalind Franklin

DO:

PCOM
CUSOM
Nova
KCU-COM

Any help would be appreciated. Especially @Goro and @gyngyn

More low tiers:
Rush
WVU
Albany
Loyola
Jefferson

Depending on your state of residence there are obviously some state schools you should cut from your list. Cut northstate.

Edit: missed CA resident status. Cut USF, IU, UCLA, UCSD, Stryker (very small class, OOS),

Agree with the above. Also, ditch IU and USF. Only other school I can think of to add is Tulane.

Do these schools really have that strong in state preferences? I added IU and USF because of MSAR. USF accepted 50 OOS last year and IU accepted 90 which I thought was a pretty good amount

I suggest:

Rush
NYMC
Creighton
Albany
Rosy Franklin
Drexel
Temple
Loma Linda (but read their list of don'ts)
MCW
St. Louis U
WVU
Jefferson
Creighton
Tulane
Loyola
U Miami
Wake Forest
EVMS
VCU
Oakland-B
Western MI
UCS
UCI
UCR IF you're from the Inland Empire
Any DO program, starting with Western, Touro-CA, AZCOM, TUNCOM, SOMA and Western-OR

Thats true to both schools, but usually need a compelling reason to be applying there...strong state ties or a very specific interest in the program. If youve got those go for it!

Having stats clearly above their average is really the reason one should be applying their OOS
