What are my chances?

Are you a part of a tribe/ have linkage/proof of being part of one?

If you are part of a tribe, do you have a history of service to your community?

Lucky for you, regardless of any potential URM status, Mississippi is the relatively rare state in the US where a 27 equivalent MCAT score can be competitive(I believe Ole Miss's median MCAT hovers in the 28-29 range). Almost 90% of MS residents who get into med school stay in state. If you aren't considered a URM, your odds will largely be tied to whether or not you get into U of Miss state program.

If you are considered a URM for admission, that will consider things considerably and a much broader list of programs could be within striking distance.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but I meant Indian as in from the country India. And I am a Mississippi resident, but would you recommend retaking the MCAT for out of state?

Overall chance for success with your current stats is around 20%.
IS is by far, your best chance (with or without a new MCAT).

I misread and thought you might be Native American which would be URM status. My bad.

Your chances will boil down to whether or not you get into your state program in all likelyhood.

If you want to guestimate your chances.

Mississippi had 345 applicants last year for 145 spots. I have no idea what the yield of this school is: let's make a rough guess and say they need to make 180 offers for 145 spots. So about half of applicants are accepted.

The average applicant from Mississippi applies with a 3.52/3.41 and a 25.

The average matriculant from Misssippi has a 3.66/3.6 and a 28.

Note these stats include the matriculants who left the state for med school. Perhaps Ole Miss's matriculant stats are a hair lower. Overall your stats are above average for an applicant and below average for a matriculant from Miss. So you have a chance, but your stats are on the lower end. An MCAT retake that hits 510+ will improve your odds significantly.

Okay, thank you for the advice @gyngyn & @GrapesofRath, but what do you think my greatest weakness would be? Please don't say everything as I already see that my stats are significantly lower vs. the mean national matriculate haha.

You did 250hrs of research and got a pub and abstract out of that? That's like 6 weeks of research!

Sorry, but I apparently can't do simple math so idk why I'm trying to be a doc... I have done research for about 2 semester and including summer.
