I got my Bachelor's from a public university in New York City. I started as a science major, but later switched to English. My cGPA for undergrad was a 3.23. I then went on to a post-bac program at a state school where my sGPA was a 3.63.

When looking at my undergrad and post-bac: sGPA: 3.08, cGPA: 3.34

My MCAT-
1st: 22- 6/8/8 (I'll admit I dropped the ball on that one)
2nd: 503- 125/126/126/126

I am an African-American female with Latino descent.
I am a New York State resident and am 26 years old.

I have been working full time as a teacher since I graduated from undergrad. As an undergrad I was very active and a part of student government and other volunteer activities.

I am applying to the following schools, mostly DO:

New York Institute of Technology COM
Touro- New York
Touro- Nevada
Touro- California
Midwestern Downer's Grove
Midwestern Arizona
Burrell
Meharry
Howard
Morehouse

I have also been accepted into a Masters Program at Midwestern Downers Grove and am considering attending.

How are your EC's? Do you have shadowing and clinical volunteering hours? You are competitive for most DO schools but apply broadly. Consider adding these schools:
ACOM
ARCOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
WCU-COM
UP-KYCOM
LMU-DCOM
You could also potentially be competitive for some MD schools but it is partially dependent on how much clinical and shadowing hours and other EC's.

If you are applying to MD schools at all, the SUNY schools should be on your list as well as Buffalo. Being an NYS resident may help more than you realize. Also, the state schools, especially Upstate, tend to favor local stories of reinvention, which you have (n=1, but it worked for me!)
