I've posted this on the regular premed forum but now that I got my mcat score I can provide full details for advice.

My cumulative is 2.75 but my BCPM is above 3.0 for screening. My post bacc Gpa is 3.90 for 71 credit hours, and it was my first shot at a premed curriculum. My cumulative is so low because I blew my Gpa as a psych major and in art school.

My race is Hispanic (Venezuelan) and white. There was some debate over whether this is URM or not

My MCAT is a 511: 129 123 132 127

I'm open to DO of course, but want to try my hardest to get into an MD program with my post bacc performance and Mcat. Although I whole heartedly agree with the osteopathic philosophy, I would rather not do the USMLE and Comlex together.

This semester while waiting for interviews I can either retake some courses to boost my GPA and take a biochem course or I can do an smp (maybe Drexel, I withdrew my RFU one like an idiot because I was pretty set on retaking courses)

I'm from Illinois. I got 120 hours of hospital volunteering, 82 hours in oncology (clinical volunteering). 1 academic school year as a tutor for economically disadvantaged city children. 57 hours of shadowing and counting.

If you're going to do an SMP, do one that has strong linkage. You would have a good shot at getting into a MD school that way. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to retake the MCAT due to the 123 in CARS (I hate CARS t00). Congratulations on that AMAZING B/B score!
