Hello, I am a non-traditional student getting ready to re-apply in June and I'm wondering if I can get an honest opinion of my chances/where I should apply/what I can do in these final months before application?

Here's a brief timeline:
Graduated in 2011 with BS in Biology 3.0 GPA
I was a teacher for 4 years and also did a lot of volunteer work
Went back to school to retake some pre-dental requirements (Organic 1 & 2, biochem, physics, physiology, sociology) GPA: 4.0
DAT AA 18
worked in a dental office for a year, shadowed many specialists
DID NOT GET INTO DENTAL SCHOOL

Some dental schools suggested I go to Hygiene school so I did, GPA so far: 4.0
Retook my DAT and got AA: 21
Bio: 20
Chem: 19
Organic: 24
RC: 20
QR: 23
PAT: 21
Took 2 graduate dental related research credits while in Hygiene school
Have many hours of volunteer
Have a strong committee letter from my UG and a strong letter from my research mentor.

What are my chances?

Seriously? Why would they ask you to do that. I guess it does give you experience.

Anyways, If you do plan on going all the way into dental school your post-graduate gpa is solid. Your DAT is great. Apply this upcoming cycle and enjoy the roller coaster.

It can help show commitment.

I think you should be able to successfully re-apply next cycle. The 21AA is solid, high PAT too. You have a lot of tings going on, but you will be able to build experience in the next year.
Schools:

Touro, Marquette, Roseman, LECOM, Tufts, state school, private school in your state, OOS schools that are OOS friendly, Midwestern IL.

These next months maybe do some dental assisting if you can while still doing hygienist school, or do actual hygienist work. I think your DAT was holding you back. You should be fine next year.

Moonlighting over the weekends as a dental hygienist while in dental school sounds great! lol
