I have a 3.5 bcpm, 3.6 overall gpa, and 499 MCAT.

I'm not sure if I should retake the mcat in July to apply August or take my chances and apply now. What do you suggest?

Where is your state of residence? What are your EC's? Do you have any shadowing or clinical volunteering hours?

With your current GPA and MCAT the GPA-MCAT grid shows your chances for a MD acceptance are ~20%. If your MCAT was 508 or higher your chances would increase to 60%. With your current stats you have a chance for interviews at some of the newer DO schools. It would not be a good idea to retake the MCAT until your practice scores are over 508. What were your practice scores before your recent MCAT?
