Hi, here are my stats:
43T MCAT (15V, 14P, 14B) and 4.0 GPA (should be higher, but AAMC does not recognize A+s) with degrees in molecular biology (neurobio focus) and literature.

As for my ECs, I took 2 years off from school and worked for the SOuth African Ministry of Health, specifically on a project to decrease the number of new AIDS cases. I traveled around the country, helping to set up new clinics and starting education programs.

I have also worked in a cancer biology lab, and currently have a patent on a new anti cancer drug that is awaiting FDA clinical trials.

While in college, I was also elected student body president, where I helped increased spending on student organizations and events by 200%.

I also have also shadowed a neurosurgeon for approximately 300 hours over a 3 year period.

So, what are my chances at a top 10 program? I have a few reach schools there, but I am thinking I better play it safe and stick with mostly mid-tier schools. What do you guys think?

anyone (else) who replies to this troll is an idiot! let this thread die the quick death it deserves.

you'd be money if you were an URM. sucks dude, good luck in podiatry school.

I'm not allowed a little humor every once and awhile? For those who cannot see through the sarcasm of this I am sorry.

And as for me being a troll, I find that hard to believe. One definition of a troll is:
"One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. 'you're nothing but a fanboy' is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue."

I am not attacking anyone, nor am I trying to start an argument. I am simply posting something out of satire, and everyone should plainly be able to see the humorous nature of the original post.

The problem is that you are 10+ posts, and there are plenty of douchebag premeds out there who post the exact same thing as you, without a satirical intent for an ego stroke, or post for self-amusement to see what people say in response.

I guess we saw the humor of your post. We just weren't laughing "with" you.

No, definitely not stroking my ego. I just get tired of looking at those posts all day. And if such a person as this existed, it would be pretty amazing, but I am sure they would post on SDN.

1. Very unoriginal
2. Your post lacked any humor in that it is so outlandish
3. I cannot believe you are attempting to rationalize any
accomplishment by this post
4. Return to the drawing board from which your ?humor? is derived
5. Oh yeah and most importantly get a life!

dude, you're just not funny. thats the problem.

Dude, Indy, is that rejection list real on your little mdapplicant site? I mean, jeez, where the hell are you going next year? How did you get shafted so, I mean, your stats look solid. Ouch.

IndyZX is using mdapplicants.com as a website to track his applications. I think "rejected pre-secondary" means he hasn't received and/or completed the secondary. "Rejected post-secondary" probably means he finished and sent back the secondary. I think it's too early to reject anyone for 2005 admission.

I think you have a relatively decent chance at a top 10. Your stats are just above average but your ECs are lacking a bit. To be safe, you should apply to some lower tier MD schools and a good number of DO schools. You should get in somewhere if you do this. Good luck. :luck:

So, FaytlND, should I conclude that I wasted my time giving you the benefit of the doubt in your "Sorry to start another" thread? Jeez. Here I am, trying to defend you...oh well. I'd still rather be gullible but nice than bitter, envious and cynical.
