I'm a junior now, and I'm planning on applying for next year. I have a 3.2 GPA from NYU and I've been scoring 19-21 on my practice DATS. Where should I apply? Where do I have a chance?
 
get back to studying for the DAT and once you've taken it come back and ask!!
 
Your GPA is a bit low, but not too low. Yeah, take the DAT and then see where you stand.

pick a lot of schools to apply to (like 15-20) since your GPA is a little low. also, make sure to do well on the DAT (your practice scores are pretty good) and apply early.

that's how to play it safe. you could probably get in somewhere with fewer schools, but if you can afford it just spring for the extra $1000 in app fees and see what kind of interview response you get.
 
How come on predents.com the ranked gpas are so low? i got so excited 🙁
 
My gpa is actually just over a 3.0 (3.19) and im a junior but im gonna hold back till senior year so i can maximize my gpa and DAT. I think if you want to have a shot somewhere, you probably should have something that makes u stick out gluck

thanks and good luck to you too. i'm in the process of bringing my gpa up now, hopefully i can get up to 3.5ish?

i'm pakistani lol
 
To get in as a junior you need above a 3.8 and above 20 on the DAT, so i would say save the money and put it toward an application next year and just study now a get that gpa boosteda little.

Based on your photo, I mean stats, I suggest you apply to the University of Louisville.

I got in to two schools as a Jr. and I don't have scores that high.

apply to a number of schools, placing emphasis on those who prefer high DAT over high GPA (i believe UoP and columbia are two such schools), and work on boosting up your application in terms of volunteering, shadowing, research, leadership, etc...and get ready to write a really powerful, moving personal statement.

since you are in new york, obviously apply to NYU, Columbia, and the other two state schools. work on getting that gpa up a bit this year, and if you play your cards right everything will fall into place.

then by all means, apply to cali schools... i hear its the "cool" thing to do 👍
