MCAT not taken

Haven't taken physics yet and graduating this coming school year no room to fit it into schedule, will postbacs take me like that? Also, what DO schools offer postbacs? and is it a bad idea to take the mcat without taking physics??? I will be taking a class though

Postbacs are typically where you take your prereqs. They're designed for folks who didn't take the sciences yet, not for GPA improvement. With only physics left to take, you'll want to look at other options, such as doing a 2nd bachelors. When you're done with physics, and when your MCAT is decent, and when your GPA is at least 2.75, then you can look into an SMP. An SMP is a terminal masters with the sole purpose of getting you into medical school. And an SMP is a last resort.

In my view, you'd be better off postponing graduation until your GPA is over 3.0 (hopefully, well over 3.0). Add a 2nd major in microbiology or genetics or something. A 3.0 with a solid 30+ MCAT is plausible for DO school.
Also, what DO schools offer postbacs?
Several, but more to the point, several offer SMPs. These are listed in the 2008 SMP list at the top of the forum.

Yep, bad idea. A great deal of physics, and an overwhelming majority of the physics questions on the MCAT, are conceptual. You can't absorb the concepts in the review offered in MCAT prep courses.

But go see for yourself: take a practice test on www.e-mcat.com, first one's free.

Best of luck to you.

THATS the type of advice I was talking about. Even though we have been bumping heads I must say, that is good advice that you gave the person.👍

Thanks Dr.Midlife! I will see if I can postpone graduating until then, although that will be difficult since they already told me no, maybe i could keep my GE classes until the end so they would have to keep me there.

Oh and thank you for the mcat website, will take it soon! 🙂

i agree, what u do, please don't do the mcat's b4 doing physics it'll most likely give u a low score that u might regret later.
