Hi everyone. I'm applying for 2012 term and I just took my DAT. Yes, it's late, but I think I did really well on the exam. I am wondering how competitive my DAT scores and GPA's are within the circumstances that I am in.

I just graduated (in December) from Washington U in STL with BS in Business Admin.
My total GPA is 3.65 and Science GPA is 3.17
I took my DAT late (just now in mid Jan) and received following scores:

Perceptual Ability 26
Quantitative Reasoning 28
Reading 24
Biology 30
General Chemistry 26
Organic Chemistry 20
Total Science 24
Academic Average 26

I am applying to:
USC, UDM, Creighton, NYU, Tufts, and Temple

I think I would also have to mention that I am not a US citizen.

I'm asking, basically, is my DAT impressive enough to overcome my low science GPA and late test date?

one word. Yes.
not sure how the process goes for non-US citizens though.

cannot leave you did the worse in Ochem (even though it's not even bad!).. those scores are god-like.:laugh::laugh:

It's pretty late into the cycle and + you're an international student. IMO i think you should wait till next cycle.

Also, I would move this thread over to the Pre-dent forum. They might be more helpful there.

Best of luck to ya!

How do i move the thread? just repost there?

how did u prepare for the DAT?
I studied for the Bio section using Kaplan DAT prep book <- It's a good starting material for Bio. Besides that I tried a lot of practice question from various sources. When I cam across terms or concepts that I didn't know, I used internet or textbook to figure things out.
I also used DAT Achiever's 3 sample exam pack, which was the least expensive product that they offer (to my knowledge). The questions from this product are actually harder than the actual DAT so don't try this at the last moment. you'll lose your confidence.
