I have a 3.0 GPA in EE at NCSU
I worked part time (30 hrs/wk) my first two years
I worked full time (50 hrs/wk) my Jr & Sr years
I graduated in 03 and have since been working at Pepsico. I plan to take two years off from work to retake science courses, and do volunteering.
If I am able to make between 3.5- 4.0 on science class’s and ~ 30 on MCAT
Will I be competitive, or will my undergraduate GPA still hurt my chances.
I plan to apply to ECU and UNC

exactly 43.4981045813851% chance of acceptance

I'd plan on applying to more than just two schools.

UNC is getting harder to get into.

Also, the numbers at ECU can me misleading.

If you don't fit into their mission statement the probability of you getting accepted is very small.

i agree....you have a good shot at getting in if you have that MCAT and those improved grades, but definitely apply to a wider range of schools...i'd suggest at least 7 or 8, if not more, just to be safe, including some "safety schools" (not that there is such a thing...)

I have 3.1 undergrad and 3.8 grad. In undergrad had a rough two first years... D, then C in Precalc (do they count precalc in AMCAS?) then same in bio. Now in post-bacc program and doing well. Still need to take calc (scares me). Went to high school that never offered geometry until my senior year (very few kids went to college) so they offered classes like Foods 2 and Choir and stuff instead of physics, pre-calc, college-prep grammar and comp or anything like that. I was lucky to get the geometry and two years of foreign language so I could apply to colleges! Even though it has been 13 years, I'm assuming they use old grades and new ones. However, does anyone know if they count precalc?

you guys made a fundamental error. It's 41.8970982345987632495% because the OP said s/he worked at Pepsico, and everyone knows that adcoms prefer Coca-Cola.
