I'm a 1st year but am thinking of studying with a COMLEX review book along with the notes/book from class to better prepare myself for the future. Is this a good idea?

I've come across BRS books, but those seem tailored towards USMLE. Are those fine to use? Is there a better book specific to COMLEX? thanks. 🙂

USMLE review stuff works fine in terms of content. First Aid, BRS, etc. - it'll teach you what you need. If you want some OMM teaching, just get a Savarese (Green Book).

The main issue is the wording and formatting of the COMLEX questions which trips up people if they aren't prepared for it. You can easily rectify that with a COMLEX QBank 2nd year.

First Aid is good to go through with systems next year. I think BRS is really good to first year because of the questions at the end each chapter. And, like everyone else has said, study toward USMLE and tack on DO specific things.

First Aid for Step 1 + UWorld question bank + Comquest question bank.
