For MDs, where are the greatest needs in our healthcare system? I hear FM is a big need but then you hear nurses and mid levels will take that over. What do you guys think specialty-wise are the greatest needs in America?

Nobody is "taking over" because the effective patient population will DOUBLE (with the baby boomers) in the next few decades.

There will be plenty of pts to go around.


Geographically rural communities are in greatest need for MDs.

Specialty wise probably primary care. However, this is 100% based the number of available residencies NOT what people choose.
