What are the risks of going to a brand new residency?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They don't seem to have figured out a formal system of resident training yet, everything is just kind of create-a-curriculum-as-you-go.
Big red flag.

The area and medical center are really nice though.
Careers have imploded on the launchpad at really nice medical centers in great areas.

But of course any new program will be risky...
Very. If you rank a new program (big "if"), it should be pretty far down your list. They may go on to be great, they may be terrible and get shut down. You really can't know right now, and it's not worth betting your career on their as-yet-unproven odds of success.
