Just curious.
Thanks but I was wondering about internal medicine subspecialitesDefinitely ortho
So, now that we've gotten it out of our system, when you say you're "just curious", what do you actually mean? What is "strong" to you? and Why pick these 2 grandma programs at random?Just curious.
I mean good clinical training for fellowshipSo, now that we've gotten it out of our system, when you say you're "just curious", what do you actually mean? What is "strong" to you? and Why pick these 2 grandma programs at random?
But there are literally hundreds of "better" programs out there for every single fellowship. Why those 2?I mean good clinical training for fellowship
I think they were asking about the strength of the fellowships, not the IM residency programsHaving worked with graduates from each program, both programs are pretty weak tbh.
Mayo holds your hand and you have every subspecialist on speed dial. Volume is low and they aren't encouraged to be efficient. Great program if you want to be an academic, but if you want to take care of sick patients independently, this isn't the place for you.
CCF IM are glorified scribes. They are there to put in orders and write notes with minimal independent decision making. Subspecialists drive the care at CCF.
Because classically their IM programs are thought to be average despite the reputation of the hospitalBut there are literally hundreds of "better" programs out there for every single fellowship. Why those 2?
Are we talking about stength like a tug-of-war contest? Do the entire departments get to participate or is it like 5 people from each department? If so, do they get to select the participants or is it a random group of 5 each?Because classically their IM programs are thought to be average despite the reputation of the hospital

Oh in that case, mayo is prob better for most fellowships if you want an academic bent. ccf cards is one of the best programs clinically but also like doing a cardiology residency with how much work it is. Haven't heard too much of other fellowships at ccf being all that great compared to cards, so probably similar to most low-mid tier university programs.I think they were asking about the strength of the fellowships, not the IM residency programs
