What is everyone doing during Winter Break? What are the things you are most excited for?

I am heading out with a cattle vet, and shadowing at an emergency clinic. Super excited for that, and of course, FOOD 🙂

Not having to study. But it won't be that relaxing. I only get like 15 days off and I'm going back to work, so yeah. I guess I'm most excited about having a car and seeing my dog and family.

ETA: Forgot a very important one. I'm ridiculously excited about getting back to my CrossFit gym. I don't really have the extra time/money to go to the one in Center City and the normal gym isn't fun and I get bored.

Eat some cookies and enjoy some parties for me, SDNers

Ideally I would also be volunteering and getting some research experience, but no one's gotten back to me to say I can so that's looking pretty unlikely.

At the border on my way home last winter break, the US border guard asked me all the questions, checked the truck bed, etc. Then he gave my passport back and said "Welcome home" all serious and old man-ly. I nearly teared up, haha.

I'm looking forward to (in exact order):
1. Chipotle
2. Seeing my fiance
3. Seeing my family and friends.
4. Being able to get into the holiday spirit- Christmas shopping, decorating, etc.
5. Having a huge, fully stocked kitchen to prepare some new stuff in (and people to eat what I cook, haha)
6. Reading for pleasure again
7. Other food- Taco bell, Mexican food, Lebanese food, Chinese food, chicken and dairy products that don't cost a lot.
8. No studying/school.

Getting so exciteddddd!

- 3 weeks of no school
- eating real, homecooked food again (vs. "exam food" = microwaveable dinners, crackers, granola bars etc)
- going Christmas shopping
- catching up on all my tv shows/movies
- hanging out with friends/boyfriend/family
- sleeping more than 5-6 h/night
- doing nothing and not feeling guilty about it

My favorite part of finals is when by the last few days 'popcorn' sounds like a completely sensible meal when compared to the packets of sugar in your coffee considered 'breakfast' and 'lunch'.

The thought of Christmas dinner and/or more than one meal a day makes me want to cheer with joy!

Yes, what is this winter break of which you speak?? Eat some cookies for me too.

1. Sleep!
2. NO RADIOLOGY!!!
3. Baking all kinds of yummy treats
4. Being able to spend time with family, and my dogs, cats, horses, and goats at home
5. Reading books that I actually want to read
6. Finally playing Skryim

I'm working at my retail job over break; so, I'm not sure how relaxing that will be with the crazy Christmas shoppers , but:

1) No studying
2) Taking a break from senior research (it hasn't been going well lately)
3) Spending time with my family and pets
4) Having time to paint
5) Having more time to shadow
6) Missouri interview!

If anyone needs any recommendations of good books/authors to read, let me know! (Romance or otherwise). I have a book problem...😀

👍 I've got a giant book called "Jonathan Strange & M. Norrell" that my bf recommended that I'm planning to read over break, but I can never have enough books. Especially since it doesn't look like I'll be getting any research over break.

Have you read Bared to you by Sylvia Day? I've been thinking about getting it, just don't know if it's a good read. I'm open to book suggestions!!

I played it through once with my ex (and killed him a bunch of times as well), but I'm obligated to play it during break with the vice president of a club I'm president of at my university and with my new boyfriend, especially since I bought them both Portal 2. The vice president of my club is an English major with a professional writing minor, so I agreed to give him my extra copy of Portal 2 if he would proof-read all my veterinary school stuff. 😛 I think it was a good deal.

Nice. I similarly promised my sister I'd play through co-op with her since I got her the game last Christmas, but I don't think she's actually beaten the first player game yet.
