I bet we can all admit that everyone here does something that goes against the beliefs or practices of dentistry.

So what is yours?

Mine is that I have an addiction to candy and will not stop eating it if its in front of me.

Food in general...I have to control myself so I do not get fat!

1)wait FAR too long between dental visits
2)grind my teeth randomly while awake
3)grind teeth constantly while asleep
4)eat complete crap and drink TONS of soda and coffee
5)brush my teeth far more times than the recommended number (after just about every cup of coffee that isnt being followed by another one)

i don't have dental insurance now. yikes.

I don't either. My family never has. Even with braces and wisdom teeth and everything, it was cheaper overall to pay full price for every visit than to make the monthly insurance payments.

I eat children!!!!😱 I'm horribly lazy about flossing..... Has anyone tried the Waterpik or other flossing substitutes.... I havent but i got on there website and it advertised a PSI range of 5-80 lmao are we removing plaque or rust here 😀

Ditto there. Or any insurance for that matter. All of this mandatory medical stuff I have to get done in anticipation of starting school is killing me ... meningitis vaccine alone = $170 so far ... still have to get a full physical! At least I get discounted dental work done at my job.

"Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh I don't know... I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me. No, don't sue me... that's the opposite of the point I'm trying to make."

cigars... i love cigars

nothing like an beautiful spring morning with a fishing pole in one hand and a good cigar in the other!

I chew on things as a nervous habit - pens, ice, straws, etc, etc. I also brush really really hard multiple times a day.

one time I chewed on one of those little firecracker thinks so that I could make it explode in my mouth. But the dentist never said to do that!

I don't have teeth, I have fangs.

And I haven't been to the dentist in two years...

This is my vice. I worked at a cigar shop for 5 years through undergrad and grad school. About the only thing better than what you mention friend is tailgaiting on a crisp Fall afternoon (or morning, depending on kickoff😉), with a cold beer and a fine cigar.😀
