There are a myriad of choices to send in applications and supplementals. Is there one that has worked best for people?

USPS lets you pick between 1st class or priority. Then you can choose certified mail with or without return receipt, signature confirmation, or delivery confirmation.

UPS and FedEx are also options.

What have you used? I definitely want some sort of proof of delivery. I can't just slap on some stamps and hope for the best.

I'm leaning toward UPS ground for the applications, but USPS 1st class with certified mail and online return receipt could also work.

I just used FedEx Express for everything supplemental that I sent in. It wasn't the cheapest choice to be sure, but it usually gets there in about 4-5 business days and you get a tracking number, too. I agree that slapping stamps on an envelope and wishing it away is too risky. I like FedEx's website and reliability. I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) so far.

I'm using priority mail flat rate envelopes with delivery confirmation. Decently cheap and programs are just as likely to misplace the stuff once its there as have it get lost in the mail 😀, so no sense spending more than DC if you ask me.

I used priority flat rate with delivery confirmation. At least I knew it made it there. had no problems whatsoever. Even so, no matter what method you use, you should call the programs and follow up to make sure they have everything. Write down who you talked to and what date and time. Keep calling (not too often) til you hear them say the words "you're all set." Then you've done your part and it's all on them.

Have fun!

How much was the priority flat rate?

I'm also curious if you used the USPS provided flat rate envelops? If you did, did you just slip the papers in? Or did you put the papers in a manila envelop and then into that priority flat rate envelops?... somewhat "double bagging" it? hehe

I'm neurotic... yes i know...

EDIT::: OH man, I just noticed I posted in another forum...(My forum search sent me over here...) This was meant for the pre-allo forum.. My bad!!

WOW!!! 3 months without checking these boards and this is what I find!!! A discussion on how to mail applications. If you need help mailing applications maybe you shouldn't even apply.
