"What are your chances" forum?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
nope. we have so few people they usually start their own thread.

we should keep this thread for everyone to post in!!! it is a little annoying when people make their own thread of stats as if they are more special than others who may ask questions within other threads

No we don't. In theory it would be nice to have one so that not everyone who stumbles upon the forum (and before they find the search feature) posts their stats and asks about their chances. In all honesty, we can't really give an accurate projection since the stats of successful applicants (contained in their own thread!) are so varied. However, since most people seem to post their stats before even looking around, I doubt the thread would do much good 🙄

I'd think that the "Successful Applicants" thread would be our 'what are your chances?' forum. You can go in there and look at where you stand compared to others who've succeeded.

Yeah, to be honest, it really seems like veterinary schools AS A WHOLE are not as focused on numbers and such as medical schools are. They seem to make a lot more allowance for early academic indiscretion if you've recently proven that you can handle a heavy courseload and can demonstrate a clear understanding of the veterinary profession. Experience is also a much bigger part of the picture for vet med than for Homo sapiens med, and that doesn't just mean racking up hours, but having quality experiences of the sort that the adcoms can tell what you learned or did through your PS/interview/LOR's. So I really think that it's quite a difficult endeavor and a little too complex to really "predict" as much as for med school.

Just my opinion...

I'm so boring. Agreeing with Nyanko again.

Really, the answer to 90% of the "do I have a chance" posts is: "yes"

the answer to 90% of the "what are my chances" posts is: "Who the hell knows"

yes, the above posts are all true. but people still post their stats!! so whether or not we can answer anything, id rather have 1 thread with stats than a billion individual threads.

....in the end, i know this wont work and no one will follow it blahhhh but w/e i'm starting school soon so i will have more of a life and less SDN lol
