What's not typical grrl stuff - the rusty barbed wire or the pre-sun-up crawling through a field?
Anyway here goes:
Family - now that I have one (full Monty - three kiddos and wife), I like to spend as much time as possible with them. Even stuff that used to bore me silly is somehow fun with 'em - still haven't figured out how that is, but it is...
Fishing - fly fishing on the salt (for ANYTHING), a river, bay, lake, creek, pond, bathtub, my dentist's fishtank (raised a few eyebrows with that one - my kids were traumatized
). Used to do "that deep sea crap" quite a bit, but got addicted to skinny water and spooky fish with the fly rod (salt and sweet water both). Fly tying goes with, of course.
Boating - any water, any boat, any time. We're moving ours from the South Shore to Sandusky Bay on lake Erie - should be good times.
Waterfowling and dogs - Kinda go hand-in-hand, these two. We just got pick of a litter and will pick up the pup late June - a Chocolate Lab from a couple of great dogs/lines. Have to shift from sea-ducks to divers and geese with the move to Ohio (anyone else here familiar, or is this all Greek?).
Skiing - getting the family season pass next year (when did I become THAT guy?). Used to race in college/Business school, now just like getting out on the hill and am looking forward to the kids getting hooked.
Exercise, NOS - was working up to a couple road races until I broke my ankle a couple months ago (running on one of those 3 degree nights trying to avoid an ice patch), now I'm a rowing machine addict.
Flying - hence the avatar. Total flight junkie, but haven't had as much time at the controls last couple years (see above!). Flew a TON during the MD/PhD, though...
Studying for Step II. That's right, I didn't take the dang thing when I graduated, and now I have to pass it before residency starts. Not that big a deal, but it's been well over 2 years since I've seen a patient...
Business - still consulting to bio-pharma as a side exercise. I like the issues and it keeps me from getting too "heads down." Money helps with the residency salary coming up, too.
Now, if I could just find an extra 12 hours in each day, I could really focus more on some of these...
TMI??
