What Beer are you bringing to Med School

Ok now for the important stuff what beer is everyone bringing to Med School?

While I am fan of the stouts and porters I am going to bring Coors Original with a side stash of 1554. Being from Colorado (the microbrew capital of the world and most beer producing state) I have to stick with Colorado originals. But feel free to disagree so long as it is'nt Budweiser (yech):barf:
 
Coors Original is better than I thought it'd be.

If I'm partying I'll probably just be drinking Miller Lite or Coors Light.

If I'm enjoying a quality beer it will probably be from Belgium. A Delerium Tremens or a Duvel. Or if I'm really lucky, I'll have a good Trappist ale.

If I'm at an Irish pub I'm drinking a Guinness, black and tan or my favorite, a black and blue. (Blue Moon and Guinness)

If I'm at a bar with microbrews, that's what I'm drinking.

Really just depends on the situation, I guess.

Well, for me Im a seasonal kinda guy. If its in the summer, gotta go with Sol or the new "Landshark" -- Margaritaville beer is good. For the winter months, you cant go wrong with Sam Adams. --Especially that winter lager. YUM.
 
ahahahaha, :laugh::laugh: This is my kinda thread too...I'll post after the intense night of hockey games. LETS GO RANGERS. OH and im drinking some Magichat #9 atm 😀
 
I do love the Chimay red bottle, too.

My fav for many years has been cold draught Belhaven. Occasionally, I can find it next to Guinness (good too) in the can with the widget; I never do the bottle.

A nice cold Yeungling, Coors Light, or Killian's would suffice for me.

Not from CA, but I worked at a restaurant that served Anchor. After shifts the servers got free drinks from the bar. Love the stuff.

i love the city. i go there as much as i can. it's 20-30 minutes away from me on subway. NYC loves jack. you'll have a home away from home. 🙂

Oh my god.. is there really a beer named delirium tremens? Hahaha, I guess that saves having to put a warning label on it. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

In belgium Stella is considered the "wife beater beer" and duval is "devil". Those are the beers you drink when you break up with your girl and want to get in a fight, or are cheap. I find it funny how expensive they are here.

I can drink just about anything....as long as it doesn't have light or lite in the name. If I'm going cheaper I prefer yuengling. The others don't even have any flavor to me. They just make a group of people hate all beer. I actually rarely buy the same thing. Every time I go in I'll just pick up something else. There is a fine balance between too much crap added and trying too hard versus a good beer one can enjoy 3 or 4 of with friends without feeling like you need to give yourself a shot of insulin.

Liquor is fine too. I think JD is kind of mediocre, sorry. I do drink it when I want to have an angry night.

P.S. Debt will never change what I drink. I don't have money now and I still buy it. Life is too short to drink crappy booze.

justletmeinplz, have you ever tried a Balck Velvet? Just take your black and blue and replace your Blue Moon with Magner's Cider

jack and coke is NICE
 
Staples of my diet.

Bud Heavy (light beer should be against the law), Guinness, Boddington's, and various other imports.

During the summer, I will sometimes also keep a stash of "yard beer" in cans...used to be PBR (still like that stuff), but now tends to be the Bud Heavy.

Have you tried finding sweet tea in NYC? After your search, you'll need that Jack Daniels.

Yeah there is and it's awesome. It's also the name of a bar in Belgium. I believe it is the bar with the largest collection of beer on earth... not sure though. They've also got a beer called Delirium Nocturnum, which is darker. 🙂
 
While I'm sure there will always be some Guinness in my fridge...the majority of my beer quota will come from one place...my carboy! That's right...homebrew is the ONLY way to go!! I'm not saying I don't enjoy a nice micro or import every once-and-a-while...but in general...I make it myself!

That said...beer is only a small portion of my ETOH diet...the rest is equal parts captain-and-coke and Scotch...SINGLE malt, highland Scotch! This is my new favorite there:

Any scotch will do, as long as its not a blend, of course. Single malt Glenlevit, Glenfiddich, perhaps maybe a Glen... any Glen will do.

Yeah, my first visit up there, I ordered sweet tea in some chain deli/cafe (like a Europan or something), and they gave me HOT tea! I felt bad, but I just couldn't make myself drink that with my lunch so I traded them for a water. Haven't made that mistake again...

Guess I should invest in a flask to keep on me at all times?

it's called southern hospitality
 
I'm a wheat ale person so if I have money its Widmer Brother's Hefeweizen all the way. If I'm broke, its Miller High Life (Miller High Life LIGHT if I'm broke and feeling fat)

I don't really know - but our waitress told us the night we were there that Justin was there just recently lol
