My college makes it difficult for me to take any upper division science courses. AHHH! Do I really need to take Physiology BEFORE the DAT?
Here are the classes that I will have taken BEFORE I take the DAT: Zoology, Botany, Intro to Bio1, Intro to Bio2, Genetics, and __________?

Which other BIOLOGY class should I take right before I take the DAT?
Physiology, Histology, Cell Biology??? Which biology class will help me the most on the DAT?

I'd say Physiology, if not that histology? Anything that is close to anatomy will do. General Biology tends to skimp in this area because it has to gloss over such a broad subject area from molecular to ecology.

thanks blankguy, so.....1 says Physiology would help me on the DAT the most.
I'd love to hear what others would say just to make sure, but certainly not to discredit blankguy. (I'm so political!) 😀

Any course that involves rote memorization in Biology will do. Those tend to be anatomy related courses. You want to get a taste on that type of learning.

If you don't want to bust your ____ you could take cell bio. There are plenty of questions that you would be more prepared for if you took that class. But yeah, physiology/anatomy would both help you in your eventual prep like blankguy mentioned.

You would be totally over prepared. Cell bio classes can be different but mine went so much deeper then any DAT question came close to. when I took the DAT 50 years ago, I found the only subject to be lacking in was physiology. Because as a previous poster stated physiology can get glossed over, especially when your instructor for bio 101 is an ecologist.

Physiology or histo, I would leen toward the latter.

Doesn't matter
You will get a great score on DAT Bio section either way
IMO just take the easiest class

Thats why I said cell bio. It's the easiest of the classes and it is relevant to today's DAT. Honestly, you don't need any of the classes if you prepare with the stuff that everyone talks about here on SDN.

I say take Biochem?... Cell bio maybe?? Intensive Vert. Phys. if it is offered?? just my 2 cents. ! good luck!

i think just intro to bio is usually enough? just study the biology section of DAT books?

you dont HAVE to take those other biology courses before you take the DAT...

wasnt there another thread like this one? the other thread said like everything you needed to know was in campbells?

hands down physiology take as much of that as you can

Physiology is a sub class of biology dealing with functions of an organism
