I'm currently in a gap year until medical school starts in Fall 2023, and was wondering if there is anything I can do right now to strengthen my residency portfolio? I am just now realizing that I might have high aspirations in medicine, even though it will be an uphill battle likely matriculating into a DO school. I'm 100% certain I want to do a specific residency but want to match competitively at the realistic likes of Stanford or Emory. What can I do right now to formally help my case? Appreciate any help.
