hey guys. so i quit my job a few months ago to enroll as a full-time non-traditional student. however, before classes started i decided to take classes to become a STNA in order to gain some clinical experience. I haven't done anything with it since i got the license (mostly because i wanted to focus 100% of my energy towards my first semester of classes). anyways i want to do something that will look great on my medical school application. any suggestions?? i like in the columbus, ohio area btw

Thing is, I've got a herniated disk in my back. So it's hard for me to do some of the labor intensive work that CNA's do.

Like you, I'd like to work in some time of hospital where I could interact with physicians where one thing could lead to another. That's primarily why I got my STNA license...

Is there any other route that you can take to ultimately get into the hospital? Can you get to the hospital after doing some home health aid stuff for example?

How much manual labor are you able to do? To my knowledge, most CNA jobs are going to require you to do some lifting/moving patients which may not be possible for you...

i used to work out often. i can still put up a decent amount of weight and so i can do some heavy lifting. so if, i'm laying on my back and someone needs me to push em up, i can do that all day long lol. but then as soon as i'm doing something like standing up and i have to bend my back a little, say 45 degrees, just to lift something then it hurts real bad. it's pretty bad. i'm constantly laying on my back, doing hw or whatever. i can't really sit or stand too long :-/

i need to get some volunteering/clinical hours in, but jeez my freakin back...
