Hi guys, I am coming back.

after struggling for couple months to make a life's decision if I still wanna try to get into med school or changing career path (to NP). Now, I figured out what I wanna do (you guys can guess why Im here).

So my VERY BAD background. Got bachelor in 2014 with 2.89 cGPA, 2.7 sGPA (around 2.5 without grade replacement). I know it's gonna be a lot of hard work to get the stat up and I'm on it!

So far, I got A in both Neuroscience class and Developmental psychology for my DIY-postbacc.
I'm now trying to decide what classes should I take next.

1. anatomy of neurology
2. Cancer Genetics
3. Medical sociology (I never take sociology before)
4. Eukaryotic pathogens

I planned to take only 2 classes per semester since I have full time job and I pay tuitions by myself.

Could you guys give me advice of what classes I should take. Other options are welcomed too.

Thanks guys!

Things that mimic a medical school curriculum. I should start keeping a list of this:

Anatomy
Physiology
Histology
Biostats
Cell Bio
Molecular Bio or Genetics
Biochem
Med Micro
Neuroscience
Immunology
Parasitology (if offered)
Pathology

How about Stem Cell/Regenerative Biology and Human Endocrinology?

1. Anat/Phys, Biochem and Immunology
2. Genetics, Cell Bio Histology Micro
3. Ecology, Evolution etc etc

Just opinions

There are various ways to do a DIY postbac - look at UC BERKELEY EXTENSION ONLINE classes, Harvard Universit Extension (which has great upper level 4 semester credit classes in the sciences and math), BYU distance learning, UNE distance learning, Iowa State independent learning has great Biochem classes. All of these require money, time and discipline - you can fix your gpa to the minimum or just above but make sure you kill the MCAT >520. Dedicate time for the MCAT - if you work fulltime, it is best to not have too many other distractions. Once you have killed the MCAT attack the classes. AACOMAS (thus DO schools) also count Public Health, Computer Science as science thus take some of these too but make sure to have a lot more life science classes in your diy. Good luck

Make sure 520+? We should push that advice for everyone.

Good for you getting off to a strong start!

You're definitely gonna was a soc class before taking the MCAT so if you can knock that out I'd say go for it.

If you like memorizing cell signaling pathways, physiology, and chemical warfare (on a molecular level) I would highly recommend immunology.

Thank you everybody for the heads up. I am thinking to take:
1. intro of neuroscience
2. cancer genetic
3. lower Med biochem (I already did higher level biochem 4000 level already and got C)

Are these good classes to take?

Also, is 3000 level is upper level science class or I should take 4000 level instead?
