True...so vague. My answer: Scrubs, especially to Thanksgiving dinner and parties. You're a die hard dental student.

I actually think that people who wear scrubs around when they don't have to..... are huge tools..... 🙄

Dress however the heck you want.👍

It's called laundry day (no pun), just rolled out of bed day, have to go contest a speeding ticket day, sick of jeans day, etc...

You'll know what I mean once you are able to take the "Pre" from your Status. 😉

well, i was wearing a hat the other day, and this guy (a TA in my practical section) told me to take it off and asked if im gonna be a doctor or a football player!!!!! :\
it just made me wonder! :\

Ahaha I don't quite follow but I do look forward to removing that "Pre" from my status😛😛.

Perhaps.... I will understand once I've achieved this

Most school's prefer business casual or scrubs from day one, but there are some that do not stress dress code as much unless you are around patients. I'm sure if the TA singled you out for wearing a hat you go to one of the schools that prefer a neater appearance..What is everyone else in your class wearing? And if you do go to one of those more laid back schools then ask your TA if he is going to instruct or play hall monitor . Haha, probably a bad plan, but you get the idea.

Here is a good rule of thumb:

Casual: jock strap, flip flops, sombrero optional

Formal: Thong, Crocs, Fez not optional

Hope this helps👍

He's alluding to the fact that as a dental student, you will probably have much less time to worry about what your wearing/keeping up on the laundry so you end up wearing scrubs at times you normally wouldn't, so don't judge him so harshly 😉.

The most unique clothing item I saw a dental student wear to class was army camouflage pajama bottoms. I suppose if the faculty don't care, all is well. Most of the students I saw on the interviews didn't dress themselves in business casual - if anything, I think I saw more business proper attire worn in undergrad.

Now that guy, that guy was the tool.

Who cares?

Not around clinic/patients: Jeans/tshirt
Otherwise, scrubs.

The other day I finished a test in scrubs and scrambled to the place I skydive at to make it onto the last plane of the day for a sunset skydive. Then went out and stayed at a buddy's place that night and went skydiving again in the morning in the same scrubs. I felt so dirty. So dental school doesn't even allow time for me to change out of my scrubs

I second this! I always liked the idea of uniforms. So scrubs work for me! I could wear them since day 1!

Definitely planning on wearing scrubs as much as possible.... they are soo comfortable....and will have enough to think about with classes to add wardrobe to it

Scrubs are drafty 🙄 especially when your school makes you order them from a certain supplier and they are made for abnormally short people!
