To those who have taken the test more than once and raised your scores, what did you do differently?

I took the exam a few years ago and did relatively well (21 AA, 22 TS, 19 PAT). Unfortunately, my scores will expire for many of the schools I am interested in. I also want to retake the exam to demonstrate that my science knowledge is still solid since I haven't taken any courses in a few years.

Since my first scores were strong, there is pressure to be close to flawless so that my scores do not drop at all. As you know, in some cases, 1-2 questions can be the difference between a 21 and a 22, a 21 and a 23, and so on.

I am making a few changes in an attempt to raise my scores or keep them consistent. For example, I started using the Bootcamp generators on day 1. I am also giving myself more time to study and review the content. I will only get to the practice questions after reviewing all of the content. I believe that jumping into the questions after watching Chad's videos once and reading CliffsAP once without a thorough review after finishing the material last time hurt me. I'm planning to go through practice questions and tests for about 2 months after reviewing all of the content and then taking the exam.

Can those who have been successful in raising their scores provide some tips? On a side note, did retaking the test seem to be a concern during the application process?
