What counts for family affiliation with a med school?

Hi guys,
My parents went to a foreign medical school, but they both did their residencies, fellowships, and were clinical instructors at one of the schools that I'm now applying to. This school has a bunch of questions about whether my parents received a degree from their university, graduated from their medical school, are/were (wording is strange so I'm not sure which one) on the faculty, etc. Do residencies, fellowships, and clinical instructors count for any of these things? It seems like they really care about family connections but I'm not sure if any of this counts. 😕 If not, I think I'll just mention it in the additional info section. Thanks!

In this case I'd say no for both questions, since I wouldn't consider a residency or fellowship a degree by strict definition (someone correct me if I'm mistaken).
