I just met with my Biological Sciences advisor and she brought up the fact that I'm pre-med and only have a 3.1 at the university. She says that I have a long way to go to apply and may need a post-bac; however I took a lot of college credit my last year of high school and community college credit before going to this 4-year. The classes transferred, but they don't factor into my GPA at the university, which is what my advisor sees. I asked her about my community college credit and she said that it doesn't count in my AMCAS GPA and that those grades are only seen as transfer credit on AMCAS instead of the actual grades. I think my AMCAS GPA is calculated using all college grades including community college and dual enrollment, which makes my GPA several points higher. Who is right?

every college level class you have ever taken has to be reported so all will be considered. if you got grades for those classes, they will be factored in.

This is correct. Even though your CC classes may not change your GPA at your university, it will change your AMCAS GPA.

You'll send all transcripts to AMCAS and your gpa will be calculated using all of them.

I don't want to get your hopes up though. Lets say that you got a 4.0 and have exactly half your credits earned from the high school classes and CC (which would be rare and you most likely have less). Your 3.1 and hypothetical 4.0 would average out to a 3.55. That isn't exactly high. It is average to slightly below average.

Chance are that your high school credits and CC credits are not half your total credits and you didn't get a 4.0. That would mean your cGPA would be less than a 3.55. A 3.55 would be the absolute max it could come out to be.
