So when you are choosing an interview day when you have been given an invite.....

This year, what would you consider to be the latest day to be considered in the "Pre-Dec 1" batch. December 1 falls on a Thursday. When does the committee actually sit down and meet and choose the acceptances? Before Thanksgiving break (November 24 is Thanksgiving Day...) you think?

How can this be correct if interviews are only on Thursdays or Fridays for a lot of schools.... go look at the November calendar. They are not going to be interviewing someone on Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday...

Who knows a more detailed answer to this?

I'm going to say this is school-dependent. They all do things their own way. There are no set rules for when and how often a committee should meet. The only rule they all abide by is the Dec 1 traffic rule (aside from the 'wink-wink, nudge-nudge's some schools show at the interview). How they get to that point is up to the school. I get the feeling some schools are way more routine and structured about the whole process than others. So I don't think there's an answer for this.

Yeah, Pitt offered me November 15th and 29th...I'm not taking any chances with the super late November interview.

use predents to see what schools did last year. for example, it seems buffalo will notify you on dec 1 (as long as you interview pre dec)

For the schools that send mailings or call a list of people, Dec 1st may not even be the definitive day! And I'm sure every committee works differently.
