What device is best to record notes on?

I remember reading in the pre- vet site Several months ago about what devices were best to do this. On weekends I am travelling in the car some and would like to be able to listen to my lecture notes on audio.Any suggestions?

a couple of kids in my class use ipods and it seems to work well for them...you can also hook ipods up to your radio and then you'd be able to listen to it in the car. i can't tell you about anything i use personally because i don't record lectures...i just follow powerpoints on my computer and occasionally scribble something down.
