what did u eat/do before taking the test..

Very important question. I was hooked on caffeine (tea) from drinking it all throughout my studying. So I put some in a thermos and brought it with me. For breakfast I ate 2 pieces of toast that has a bunch of nuts and seeds in it, and a banana. Then I went outside and shot some hoops to kill my nerves and I heard that it helps you think better to exercise. My test was at 12 and right before going in, I ate an apple and drank some tea. Then at my break I did the same thing. My only problem was that the tea dehydrated me a little and I got a head-ache during the drive home (worth it).

It is an important question indeed.

The first time I took it, I drank a full cup of coffee and my alertness was way high however, I had to run to the bathroom twice during the science section. That was like at least 15 mins right there, holy ****!

Here is what I'm gonna do before the test...

I'm gonna run for half and hour and then have a hot shower, then I'll have my breakfast (a sandwish and a banana, no coffee OMG!!!), go over the last-minute-note then head to the center for the kill.

got my test in a week....but im planning on drinkin nothin but gatorade. the salt will help to keep me away from the bathroom. my test is at 12, so im gonna wake at 9 after a solid night's rest, eat a light breakfast of mostly carbs, and do a light jog and some stretches and deep breathing.....then chill till test time

I got 2 hours of sleep the night before I took the DAT. I thought I was going to pass out halfway through the test.

If I drank gatorade instead of coffee, I would have gone to the bathroom at least 4 times instead of 2.

a pack of instant noodle with 2 boiled eggs.. (i had a tummyache afterward)
2 cans of redbull (i had 2 hrs of sleep the night before from all the nerves 🙁 )

I used a tutor to study for the SAT in high school, and he gave me some good eating tips. I've used it ever since, and I've done pretty good on them all. Here were the tips:
The day before, drink lots of water, eat lots of carbs the night before.
The morning of, drink two tall glasses orange juice, 3 eggs with lots of cheese and 2 pieces of toast.

For me, it works, and I always feel great when taking the test. I always avoid cafeine. Yes, it makes me feel alert, but I ALWAYS miss the little things, or fall for the trick answer when I do that. I avoid it. Water is best.

I sat in my car for like half an hour wiht my eyes shut and thinking to myself, "It's now or never, DO IT YOU GOTTA DO IT!! GET A 20!!" and I did : )

hey guys, what did you eat/do to stay sharp during test day?

full meal/half a meal/a lots of sugar?

I had a few Oreo cookies and a glass of milk (then again, my test was around lunch time). I recommend you have a full breakfast, and if you are a heavy coffee drinker to drink some, but less than usual. You don't want to suffer from withdrawal symptoms while taking the test, but you also don't want to get a caffeine or sugar crash half way through.

This is merely my personal opinion.
