Hi so I just had a question because I am transferring in the spring semester to Rutgers University from Polytech in brookyn because of financial issues- and am a current sophomore
I didn't do so great in my science courses getting:
Bio 1- C+
Bio2- B+
Chem1- B
Chem 2-B-
But in all my other other classes they were A's-
Currently I am taking Physics 1, Orgo 1, and retaking Bio 1 to get that A. But now I'm all confused because since I'm transferring the credits will hopefully all transfer over- but if I'm going for pre-med I need that high 3 GPA so should I retake all those science courses at Rutgers? But that would probably mean I'm a semester behind everyone else...
what do you guys recommend me to do? And I will do whatever it takes to get into med school! And I would be changing my major from biomolecular science to genetics if this changes anything...

Thanks!

Your situation sounds very similar to mine i am also having to retake some of my classes and was worried about being behind but i recently went a Med School Seminar at FSU wit med students from all over Florida and all of them were 2nd and 1st years the youngest was 26 with the oldest being 29 i would not worried about being a semester behind at all! It would be best to take those classes and get A's in them to get your best possible GPA and it shows you know you made a mistake and are wiling to take time to fix it.

I wouldn't recommend retaking the courses with a B, it might come off a bit obsessive. You just got to improve from hear on. Train a little bit harder and seek some help. To help increase your GPA, take easier science courses. It's easier said than done but I think you'll be fine. Don't give up and try to push yourself a little more, you can do it!
