Also, that Vitamin D is a precursor of steroid hormone. So it does classify as a steroid hormone...I got this question wrong in a Kaplan test, maybe it's superfluous but I learned something so I thought I would share.

It's just a hormone which is a product of cholesterol that facilitates calcium metabolism. It was erroneously categorized as a vitamin way back in the day and scientists were too stubborn to change it.
